
Mrs. Sapp is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Supervising Counselor (SC) with over 15 years of experience serving children, adolescents, and families throughout Central Alabama. She specializes in supporting individuals and families navigating blended family dynamics, school refusal, and developmental transitions, helping clients build resilience and foster healthy, meaningful relationships. Mrs. Sapp also has a strong focus on assisting young adults transitioning to college, supporting them in navigating this stage with confidence and ease.
Mrs. Sapp is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She is actively pursuing advanced training to expand the application of EMDR with children, adolescents, and teens. She values innovative and developmentally appropriate approaches to therapy, including walk-and-talk sessions integrated with ACA’s facility dogs, which provide a calming and supportive therapeutic environment.
Her mission is to empower children, teens, and their families to overcome personal challenges and enhance their overall quality of life. Mrs. Sapp is deeply passionate about the transformative impact of counseling during childhood and adolescence and is committed to using clinically significant, evidence-based interventions.
Mrs. Sapp utilizes a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. She strongly believes that working within the family system is essential to helping the identified client develop a healthy sense of self and long-term emotional well-being.
