Brooke Bissell is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who believes in creating a safe, compassionate space where children, teens, and families can feel seen and supported.
She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
from Samford University, and has dedicated her career to helping clients navigate life’s hardest moments with care and strength. Brooke feels honored to walk alongside children, teens, and families as they walk through grief, serious illness, anxiety, depression, and the many ups and downs of growing up.
Brooke works primarily with clients ages 5–18 and also supports families facing serious medical diagnoses through her work in inpatient hospital care.
She has received advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through the Marsha Linehan Institute and Pediatric Palliative Care through Harvard University.
She is also a certified Nurturing Parent Educator. She integrates various therapeutic tools including CBT, DBT, play therapy, and is committed to trauma-informed practice.
Brooke’s work is rooted in the commitment to honoring all forms of identity and diversity. In sessions, clients can expect warmth, gentle humor, thoughtful exploration, and a genuine sense of care. She considers it a privilege to be invited into a client’s world and
is deeply grateful for the opportunity to support their journey.
Outside of ACA, Brooke loves reading and spending time with her family—which includes a very strange cat with nine toes on each paw!
Brooke is accepting new clients and will be offering after school and evening appointments in the fall! To schedule with Brooke please call us at 205-530-8743, option 1.
