Kemonia is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with over 8 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies from Troy University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Kemonia brings extensive expertise in adoption-related work, supporting children and families navigating adoption, attachment disruptions, and complex trauma. As a Supervising Counselor, she offers a depth of clinical experience and leadership that strengthens both her work with clients and her support of other clinicians. She also helps individuals cope with anxiety, grief, depression, anger, and provides marriage and parenting support.
Her therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in meeting clients where they are. She is Theraplay-trained, which allows her to support children and caregivers in building secure attachment, emotional regulation, and healthy connection. She helps clients develop the tools and skills needed for meaningful healing and long-term growth.
Kemonia is trained in a wide range of evidence-based and relational therapies, including EMDR, Theraplay, Play Therapy, Creative Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) principles, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Prepare/Enrich, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also offers faith-based counseling when requested.
Her mission is to create a safe, compassionate, and empowering therapeutic environment where individuals and families can process trauma, strengthen attachment, and foster growth.
Outside of the therapy room, Kemonia enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, and loving on her sweet dog, Brenton.
