Margaret is dedicated to supporting children as they grow, heal, and thrive. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her graduate studies, she specialized in child-centered play therapy, which continues to be a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach for children ages 3-8.
Margaret is passionate about helping children and adolescents navigate a world that can often feel overwhelming or uncertain. She creates a safe, nurturing environment where young clients can express themselves freely and build the skills they need to face life’s challenges. She has experience working with children and adolescents dealing with physical and sexual abuse, grief and loss, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), Autism, conduct disorder (CD), and school refusal. Her approach is compassionate and individualized, always honoring the unique strengths and needs of each child to help them express themselves and work through challenges at their own pace. Her trauma-informed approach with teens also incorporates techniques from CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy. Margaret’s goal is to support each client in reaching their full potential while also collaborating closely with families to ensure consistent care.
In her free time, Margaret enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and playing with her golden retriever, Moose. These personal passions help her stay grounded and bring joy and balance to her life—something she strives to help her clients find as well.
