
Makenna graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in forensic psychology.
In August 2025, she began pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of West Alabama and is on track to graduate in August 2027. She is currently practicing under the supervision of ACA’s owner, Alexis Sapp, LPC-S, NCC.
Makenna believes that people of all ages have a story and deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported in a safe and welcoming space. She is interested in developing her clinical competence in depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, and eating disorders. Makenna also offers faith-based counseling upon request.
Makenna has a professional working proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). She spent 10 years helping interpret for the Deaf ministry at her church, an experience that has allowed her to develop a passion for serving her community.
In her free time, Makenna enjoys playing pickleball with her husband, walking her dog, and painting.
Makenna offers client's a sliding scale private pay rate.
