Sarah Knapp is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC). She has a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Neuroscience. She has experience working in the school counseling setting and has worked with a mix of ages between 4 and 21 for over 9 years. Sarah has a special interest in children and teens who have been affected by Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Autism, Domestic/Sexual Abuse and Divorce and is committed to meeting clients where they to develop a treatment plan to best serve the needs of her clients.
Sarah utilizes clinically significant and evidenced-based counseling modalities such as Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy techniques in session.
Sarah's mission is to equip clients and families with the tools they need to pursue personal growth and healing and is passionate about the role that psychoeducation plays in the understanding of the brain and body connection. She is committed to working alongside clients and their families by providing support and resources to help identify and reach treatment goals.
