Sydney Underwood is an Associate Liscensed Counselor, with a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Montevallo and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Indian River State College in Exceptional Student Education.
Sydney has over 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents ranging from ages 4-14. Sydney works full-time as a Professional School Counselor. She has experience in treating children dealing with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Divorce, and Behavioral Issues. She feels honored to learn from each clients’ unique experience and she is passionate about supporting diverse clients.
Sydney integrates a range of therapeutic approaches in their practice, including: •Solution Focused-based solutions: this refers to using specific therapeutic modalities based on the needs of the client, whether it be solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or others.
• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): A goal-oriented therapy that emphasizes finding practical solutions to current problems.
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A form of therapy that helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
• Play Therapy Techniques: Often used with children, this approach uses play as a medium to help them express their emotions and work through problems.
When Sydney is not working with clients she loves attending indoor cycling classes, cuddling with her dog, and going to the movies with her husband.
